Already a week into November! And if this new month holds a tiny resemblance to last’s I will be SO thrilled. October was a really surreal month. And for sure all the glory goes to my Heavenly Father for bringing me to this point in my life. I am just so overwhelmed with happiness at all that has happened that I thought I would share a list of my favorite moments of the month of October. And I challenge you to send me your favorite moments and I will post them in my next “monthly recap”. Here we go:

(by the way, all pictures are at the end)

  • well, simply said I began my month by discovering I adore this new writer, Colleen Hoover. I only read the one titled “November 9” but I was totally spellbound by it. I am hoping to read more from here this year.

  • had a sleepover with my best friend and my sister, and we had Italian, Starbucks, and a delicious breakfast the next day. We were woken up by her husky the next morning, it was the cutest and best time.

  • took many ballet classes! And I loved each one of them, especially because I was so proud and surprised by my classmates’ talents

  • I also visited my family in Perez Zeledon, this was the last time I saw them before coming to the US for 5 months. We had a great time, but on the way back due to a hurricane the roads were terribly clogged and we waited in a traffic jam for 5 hours!!! It was the dreamiest time ever but at least we got to see the ocean…

  • attended one last ballet class and later had a birthday party for our beautiful ballet teacher and said goodbye to my girls, it was certainly bittersweet.

  • I packed my life into two suitcases in two days and began feeling the real rush of a little panic, excitement, and adrenaline of what I was about to embark upon.

  • before leaving I had a long date with my best friend in which we talked for hours, took pictures, and ultimately dreaded our parting moments.

  • after getting my heart broken into a million pieces when saying goodbye to my sister, friends, and doggie I took my adventure to the airport and flew to Atlanta, Georgia.

  • I got settled into my new temporary home as if I had lived in it my whole life, and I began feeling such a debt towards God’s goodness because I could not believe this was happening to me!

  • got reunited with Dunkin’, Chick-fil-A, cold autumn weather and so much more

  • so far this month I visited the Georgia Apple Festival and Kennesaw mountain

  • went bowling for the first time ever (I suck at it of course)

  • took advantage of the quick deliveries and did some online shopping

  • but the most amazing that I experienced in this month of October is how easy it was to fall back in love with the school and its curriculum. I got so many flashbacks from my years as a student and though some of those memories might bring some regret with them as to I behaved a lot also bring happiness and amazement at the sight that everything I have gone through in my life has been directed to this moment where I can help guide amazing young people into having the same fulfilling God-driven life I lead this day (and all because of HIS GRACE).

Not everything this month was rainbows, of course, there was a lot of overthinking and anxiety, a lot of pain and hesitation at leaving, and lots of awkwardness about fitting into a new family, job, and routine. But the reason I highlight the good things is that those good moments were a reward, a haven from what one would call “bad times”. I am just resting in His guidance, and from now on waking up every day eager to go to that school and fulfill God’s purpose in my life.

God loves you,

Dear Ordinary Caro
