From large Bible conventions to creative Bible camps, and elaborate missionary organizations, it is SO evident the many ways we are able to collaborate and accomplish that mission given to us in Matthew 28:19

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

Nevertheless, I’ve often been struck with the dilemma of "in what" should I get involved or where to find my calling in this vast list of ministries. Of course, the answer is not easy to find, as it depends on many factors and is not merely a random choice. However, I have discovered that we don’t have to choose a “ministry” from a limited list. Recently I’ve had opportunities to look into several unique and different ways in which we can apply our gifts and talents (as in verse 19 of Matthew 28) and therefore accomplish our earthly mission delegated by Jesus.

Here’s a list of fun and different ministries that you can start praying about!

1. A bed and breakfast!

Yes, you heard correctly, a bed and breakfast. Last month I had the opportunity to stay at "Eby’s bed and breakfast" in an Amish community in Pennsylvania. It was not only the most gorgeous, cozy house but the nicest atmosphere and hospitality. The lady who owned the house was super nice and willing to speak of Jesus, she shared testimonies from her family and previous visitors. I had the time of my life there but when I left I realized that as simple as it was, this lady had a great ministry in her hand! She had the opportunity to show Jesus through her hospitality to all her guests!

Have you ever been here? It’s so surreal! My first time in Kentucky I visited this incredible museum, and once again my eyes were opened to the beautiful ministry these people have in their hands. It might seem like a normal job, just selling the “museum” tickets or being guides or your basic “salesman” at the gift shop. These are just façades, all of them encounter hundreds of people every day who are exposed to the gospel and are susceptible to the Word, here even your testimony can make an impact in someone’s life!

3. Christian theater. Hint: Sight&Sound Theaters

If you are like me…a total fanatic for musicals and you have the gift for theater art let me tell you this might be something to pray very strongly about.

The very first time I saw a play at Sight&Sound it was the one titled David. I was spellbound. You have no idea the feelings swirling through me as I saw and heard the Word of God being put into music with such amazing props. If I had been given the talent for this industry I would probably go headfirst into working with a ministry like this! No pressure, of course, LOL

But in all seriousness, I looked into it, especially for Sight&Sound they have learning programs for interested parties! Go check them out and let me know so I can go spy on you in their performances (*wink wink)!

4. Christian Education

Again, simple BUT one of the most lucrative ministries as far as I have witnessed. In all honesty, any type of education is a beautiful ministry, especially since you get to work with young people and it is "easier" to lead them to Christ and have them grow with a Biblically structured mentality compared to the difficulty of getting an adult to change their old ways (not implying anything, of course, just saying it is a little bit more doable with kids). Nevertheless, why settle for normal public education when you can make such a great ministry out of it?

If you were gifted with patience and creativity for teaching, go find a child, teach them to read, and show them Jesus’ love in the process.

I can personally attest to the impact this Christian education has on a person as I was a partaker of it being a graduate of ACE ministries. IT CHANGED MY LIFE.

So you see? Serving Jesus does not necessarily mean going to the heart of Africa as C.T. Studd or many other missionaries did (never say never of course), it can be as simple as dedicating your life to the Lord in your everyday life whether you have a specific ministry in mind or God is still leading you to it.

If you have any additional comments, thoughts, or questions it would be such a blessing to chat!

God loves you ;)
